Title:
OFF-GRID ELECTROLYSIS CONTROL METHOD AND STRUCTURE INDEPENDENT OF POWER GRID
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/208524
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electrode and electrolytic cell structure and a control method, which are independent of a power grid, and can independently use clean energy, such as wind energy and solar energy, with a very great power fluctuation amplitude, to independently serve as an electrolysis power source. An electrolytic cell can be used for producing hydrogen, oxygen, etc., with water. The number of basic electrodes is set according to the minimum switching-in voltage value of a fluctuating power source such as wind energy or solar energy; when a voltage rises, a certain number of electrodes are connected in series, so as to consistently keep each electrode at a reference voltage of around 2 volts. The effective size of the electrolytic cell is set according to a ratio of the minimum switching-in current, which corresponds to the minimum switching-in voltage value of the fluctuating power source such as wind energy or solar energy, to a reference current; and when the voltage and current of the fluctuating power source increase within a certain range, several electrodes, which are connected in series, are connected in a basic electrolytic cell, and when the voltage and current of the fluctuating power source continuously rise and exceed a bearable range of the basic electrolytic cell, an electrolytic cell with the number of electrodes, which are connected in series, being the same as that of the basic electrolytic cell is automatically connected in parallel, whereas, when the voltage and current of the fluctuating power source continuously decrease, a certain number of electrodes, which are connected in series, are automatically switched out, and even electrolytic cells which are connected in parallel are switched out, such that the aim of performing electrolysis by using a power source with very great power fluctuation and very great current fluctuation is achieved.
