Abstract:
The purpose of this invention is to provide an oil ring for a diesel engine, a pair of rails in the oil ring having excellent independence and following properties, and an excellent side-surface sealing function being achieved for ring grooves. To achieve this purpose, there is provided an oil-control ring in which a pair of independent top and bottom annular rings having abutments are combined vertically in the axial direction. The top ring and the bottom ring each have a rail part that slides against the inner wall of a cylinder, and an annular coil expander that urges the rail part so as to press the same against the inner wall of the cylinder. A plurality of oil-draining grooves are provided in the downside surface of the top ring and/or the upside surface of the bottom ring.
