Abstract:
This oil control valve is provided with a housing, and a spool valve that is disposed inside the housing and is able to move in the axial direction. The range of movement of the spool valve includes a first region and a second region. In the first region, a port that is connected to a lock mechanism opens so as to prevent the movement of a variable timing valve mechanism through the discharge of oil from the lock mechanism. In the second region, oil is supplied and discharged with respect to the variable timing valve mechanism through a passage inside the spool valve. The first region exists at a position separated from the second region in the range of movement.
