Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cylinder for a sock-knitting machine, comprising: a needle guide unit which has a cylindrical shape and which has needle guide grooves formed along the circumference thereof such that needles are inserted into the respective needle guide grooves and guided when the needles are elevated; and a sinker guide unit which is integrally formed with an upper portion of the needle guide unit, and which has a plurality of upper needle guide grooves formed along the circumference thereof and on the same vertical line with the needle guide grooves so as to guide the elevation of the needles, and which has sinker guide grooves formed on the upper surface thereof so as to guide the horizontal reciprocation of sinkers. As the cylinder is constituted by the needle guide unit having the needle guide grooves and the sinker guide unit having the sinker guide grooves and the upper needle guide grooves, wherein the needle guide unit and the sinker guide unit are formed integrally with each other, needles are smoothly elevated along the needle guide grooves and the upper needle guide grooves, and therefore abrasions of the needle guide unit, of the sinker guide unit and of the needles are minimized, thus preventing damage to components caused by a mismatch between the needles and the guide grooves. In addition, when the needles are inserted into the respective needle guide grooves, curved surfaces of the needles tightly contact curved surfaces of the needle guide grooves, thereby preventing foreign substances such as dust from collecting between the needles and the needle guide grooves.
