Title:
OIL AND GREASE SKIMMING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1999/005947
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention refers to the device for skimming of oil and grease from the surface of liquids spread on small-size surfaces, e.g. of a plate, pot and used in households. The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on small-size surfaces, such as referred to in this invention, consists of the body (1) designed as an empty cylinder with the separation wall (2) mounted in its lower part and shaped as a funnel turned upside down, provided with a central, slightly protruded outlet attachment (3).

PATENT CLAIMS
1. The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on smallsize surfaces, characterised in that the body (1) is shaped as an empty upright cylinder, with the separation wall (2) mounted in its lower part and provided with a central, slightly protruded outlet attachment (3).
2. The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on smallsize surfaces, such as referred to in Claim 1, characterised in that the separation wall (2) is constructed as a flat plate conically raising towards the centre of the body (1), so that rt is actually shaped as a funnel turned upside down.
3. The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on smallsize surfaces, such as referred to in Claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the surface ot the separation wall (2), in particular its lower surface, is smooth and made of metal.
Description:
OIL AND GREASE SKIMMING DEVICE The invention refers to the device for skimming of oil and grease from the surface of liquids spread on small-size surfaces, e. g. of a plate, pot and used in households. The invention is classifie as A47J 43128 class of the International Patent Classification.

The technical problem successfully solved by the invention in question involves the design and construction of such device which will enable simple skimming of oil, grease and similar substance from the surface and will be useful in households. In addition, the device shall allow for simple use and cleaning.

There is known the oil and grease skimming device for removal of oil and grease particles from the surface of liquids, such as described in the EP document No. 654241. The device consists of a collecting dish into which to pour the liquid from which you are supposed to remove the

grease particles. A centrally positioned rod serves for regulation of specially designed mobile bottoms of the collecting dish in the way to retain in the dish above all the grease particles in the liquid. The device consists of many compoundable parts which shall be disassembled and cleaned after each use; further, the device is quite difficult to handle and is not suitable for straining of small quantities of a liquid.

The PCT Publication No. WO 93/21810 describes a device in the form of a big ladle with round openings along the upper edge of the ladling surface. The device is immersed into the liquid in the way that the particles floatlng on the surface of the liquid slide through the openings on the edge of the ladling surface. In this way it is possible to catch the grease particles and the like floating on the surface of the liquid. The use of the above device requires from you to catch grease particles on the surface of the liquid with great accuracy and a calm hand, because by a slightly deeper immersion you also ladle the liquid itself.

The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on small-size surfaces, such as referred to in this invention, avoids the deficiencies of the known versions in the way that the body is designed as an empty cylinder with a separation wall mounted in its lower part and shaped as a funnel turned upside down, provided with a central, slightly protruded outlet attachment.

The invention will be explained in detail on the basis of the example and the corresponding drawings whereof:

Figure 1 shows an axial section view of the oil and grease skimmint device for liquids spread on small-size surfaces, such as referred to in this invention; Figure 2 shows a lateral view of the oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on small-size surfaces, such as referred to in this invention; The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on small-size surfaces, such as referred to in this invention and shown in Figures 1 and 2, essentially consists of the body 1 shaped as an empty upright cylinder.

Inside the body 1 and nearer to its lower edge, there is the separation wall 2, constructed as a flat plate conical raising towards the centre of the body 1. As a matter of fact, the separation wall 2is shaped as a funnel turned upside down. The surface of the separation wall 2, in particular its lower surface, must be smooth and made of metal. The top of the separation wall 2 is provided with a centrally mounted, slightly protruded outlet attachment 3. At the upper edge of the body 1there is also the handle 4 for easier handling of the device referred to in this invention.

The separation wall 2 is mounted in the body 1 in such a way that it completely obstructs the flow of the liquid from the lower section of the body 1 into the upper section, except through the outlet attachment 3.

The oil and grease skimming device for liquids spread on small-size surfaces, such as referred to in this invention, is easy to handle and does not impose any special effort. The device referred to in this invention shall be immersed into the liquid with the lower part of the body 1 on the spot of grease. The latter rises along the separation wall 2 towards the centrally mounted outlet attachment 3 and through it slides into the upper part of the body 1 above the separation wall 2. Thereafter the device referred to in this invention shall be simply lifted and the grease and oil collecte above the separation wall 2 poured out.
