Abstract:
Disclosed is a lubricant composition in the form of an oil-in-water type (O/W type) emulsion, which does not utilize any depleted resource, is composed of highly safe components having no environmental load, has nonconventional excellent lubrication performance, is easy to handle, is highly economic, and can be applied to fields relating to tribology. Specifically disclosed is a lubricant composition comprising an oil-in-water type (O/W type) emulsion and diamond-like ultrafine particles treated with a water or oil dispersant agent and contained in an aqueous phase (a W phase) and/or an oily phase (an O phase) of the emulsion. The lubricant composition may take at least one multiple emulsion state which is formed by adding an oiliness-improving agent to the above-mentioned system and/or a complex state which is formed by adding a solid lubricant other than the diamond ultrafine particles.
