Abstract:
This oil ring (1) is provided with an annular body (2) having: an inner peripheral surface (2a); an outer peripheral surface (2b); one side surface (2c) and the other side surface (2d), which are substantially perpendicular to the inner peripheral surface (2a); and a pair of joint ends (5, 6) facing each other and forming a joint (4). The body (2) has an annular first rail (11), an annular second rail (12), and a column (13) which connects the first and second rails (11, 12). The first rail (11) has a sloped surface (21a) and a contact surface (22a), the maximum width W11 of the contact surface (22a) at the joint end (5, 6) being in the range of 100 %-250 %, inclusive, of the maximum width W21 of the contact surface (22a) in the remaining portion. In the body (2), the difference (d2-d1) between a nominal diameter d1 and the minimum diameter d2 of curvature of the outer peripheral circular arcs of the joint ends in a free state is greater than -0.50 mm and less than +1.00 mm.
