Title:
OIL SEPARATOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OIL SEPARATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/196168
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An oil separator (10) equipped with: a cylindrical first separation unit (11) having a first interior space in which a refrigerant can rotate; a second cylindrical separation unit (12), which is arranged below the first separation unit (11) and has a second interior space in which the refrigerant flowing from the first separation unit (11) can rotate; an introduction tube (13), which causes a refrigerant to flow out toward an inner wall surface within the first separation unit (11), thereby generating a swirl flow of the refrigerant in the first interior space; an outlet tube (14) through which the refrigerant, from which refrigerant oil has been removed, is guided out; and a discharge tube (15), through which the refrigerant oil that has been separated from the refrigerant is discharged from the second interior space. The second separation unit (12) has a surface (16) connecting the inner wall surface of the first separation unit (11) and the upper end of the inner wall surface of the second separation unit (12), thereby forming a step. The angle formed between the surface (16) and the inner wall surface of the first separation unit (11) is 90 degrees or less, and the angle formed between the surface (16) and the inner wall surface of the second separation unit (12) is 90 degrees or less.
