Abstract:
The present invention relates to epindolidione derivatives for use as a material in an organic electroluminescence layer, a preparation method thereof, and an organic light emitting diode (OLED) comprising the same. In greater detail, the present invention relates to an OLED comprising a composition for use in an OLED light emitting layer, the composition comprising novel epindolidione derivatives as a host and Alq3 or rubrene as a dopant. The epindolione derivative compounds of the present invention is in a liquid form and is prepared in a simple process and is inexpensive, and exhibits outstanding optical properties without degradation in mechanical properties and light emission properties. Hence, the compounds can be used as a host of a light emitting layer in an OLED, thus finding applications in flexible displays.
