Any one of the oligopeptides (a), (b), (c) and (d) mentioned below or a derivative thereof has a collagen gel shrinkage promoting activity, and therefore can effectively prevent or ameliorate the wrinkling, drooping down, sagging, deterioration in resilience or deterioration in elasticity of skin. Provided is: (a) an oligopeptide which comprises the amino acid sequence AV, SCHTAVDR, CHTAVDR, CHTAVD, HTAVD, CHTAV, TAVD, HTAV, TAV or AVD; (b) an oligopeptide which comprises an amino acid sequence having such a structure that one amino acid residue is substituted in the amino acid sequence AV, SCHTAVDR, CHTAVDR, CHTAVD, HTAVD, CHTAV, TAVD, HTAV, TAV or AVD (provided that AV is contained) and has a collagen shrinkage promoting activity; (c) an oligopeptide which comprises the amino acid sequence DG, LLCLDGTR, LCLDGTR, CLDGTR, LDGTR, LDGT, DGTR, LDG, DGT, SVDGK, SVDG, VDGK, DGK or VDG; or (d) an oligonucleotide which comprises an amino acid sequence having such a structure that one amino acid residue is substituted in the amino acid sequence DG, LLCLDGTR, LCLDGTR, CLDGTR, LDGTR, LDGT, DGTR, LDG, DGT, SVDGK, SVDG, VDGK, DGK or VDG (provided that DG is contained) and has a collagen shrinkage promoting activity.
