Abstract:
The objective of a disclosed omnidirectional image pickup optical system is to provide an omnidirectional image pickup optical system in which a field of view (FOV) for viewing an object becomes the same direction as an image sensor surface, and at the same time, a loss of light quantity is small and an optical field is short. Accordingly, the present invention relates to an optical system capable of observing the entire 360 degrees, the optical system having, from one side to the other side, a front lens, an image formation lens system and an image sensing unit in order, wherein the front lens has: a first surface having a first refracting surface which has a positive refractive power and is formed in a bowl shape with an empty center in order to refract light incident; a second surface for reflecting light incident through the refracting surface on one side of the refracting surface to the other side; and a second refracting surface for refracting the light reflected from the second surface toward the image formation lens system, while filling the central empty space of the first surface.
