Abstract:
In a navigation system that has a mobile terminal (2) that functions so as to receive position information that represents the current location of a vehicle and to perform route-guidance processing on the basis of the position information, and that has an onboard control device (1) that functions so as to present to a user route-guidance information that is generated by the route-guidance processing of the mobile terminal, the onboard control device is provided with: positioning units (10, 11, 12, 16) that measure the current location of the vehicle; transmission units (14, 15, 16) that, at a decided time interval, regularly transmit to the mobile terminal position information that represents the measured current location of the vehicle; and a decision unit (16) that, on the basis of given road map information that represents a road map, and in accordance with the location of a road that corresponds to the current location, decides the time interval for the transmission of the position information. The transmission units transmit the position information at the time interval decided by the decision unit.
