Abstract:
A one-way clutch is configured so that by bending, of the hook sections (5a, 5b) provided at the two ends of a C-shaped spring (5) for pressing rollers (rolling elements) (4) that contact each other into the narrow section of a wedge-shaped space (3) between an outer ring (1) and a rotating shaft (2), the other-end hook section (5b) that contacts one of the rollers (4), said other-end hook section (5b) is able to press the roller (4) in the vicinity of the pitch circle (P1) of the roller (4) array, improving the stability of the locking of the outer ring (1) and the rotating shaft (2) when transmitting torque between the two members (1,2) while also making it difficult for jamming of the other-end hook section (5b) of the C-shaped spring (5) to occur and making it possible to obtain smooth idling movement. By setting the spring constant of the C-shaped spring (5) to be small, it is also possible to limit variation of idling torque due to dimensional errors of the various components.
