Title:
ONLINE TRANSFORMER ERECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/055380
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An erection device for erecting distribution transformers without interrupting the supply line is provided. The distribution transformers are serially connected in supply line LT or HT or EHT, the erection device uses mechanical or electrical cranes to carry the distribution transformers, and the distribution transformers can be moved in the direction X, direction Y and direction Z.

Claims:
Any equipments like Distribution Transformer, Metering sets, Vacuum Circuit Breakers etc., erection under live supply either LT or HT or EHT.

The erection under live supply by using Hydraulic, Mechanical or Electrical cranes ( Mobile or Non-Mobile ).

The movement of the equipment in the direction X direction, Y direction and Z direction i.e. vertical, horizontal and depth away the structure with or without live supply.

Description:
ONLINE TRANSFORMER ERECTION DEVICE

HOW IT IS AN INVENTION

ONLINE TRANSFORMER ERECTION is done with live supply. Hence it is an invention.

HOW IT IS USEFUL 1. Quick dismantling and erection time i.e. within 30 minutes.

2. LINE CLEAR or BLINK not necessary.

3. Since entire feeder supply was not interrupted an indirect profit achieved.

4. Whenever the supply is interrupted those who are utilizing generators switched to their own supply. In the new method the supply interruption is avoided, the fuel cost for generators ( either

Petrol or Diesel or any other fuels ) is saved to consumers.

This is not only for consumers but also to the nation, since the above fuels are imported. Hence, Foreign Exchange is also saved. 5. TAMILNADU ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION directs that the interruption of supply should not exceed 24 hours in case of failure of Distribution Transformer in urban area and 48 hours in rural areas. If the time exceeds compensation amount have to be paid to each consumer ( Maximum Rs 2000/ consumer ). The time saving in the new method is certainly very useful. HOW IT IS DONE

Any lifting force equipped ( either hydraulic, mechanical or electrical) mobile or non-mobile with load carrying facility or without load carrying facility is used.

1. Fig 1 shows how the LT & HT supply is distributed to consumers.

2. Fig 2 shows how the Distribution Transformer is replaced without affecting the entire supply except the working place within 30 minutes.

3. Fig 3 shows the old method of Distribution Transformer erection after interrupting the HT supply and the hardship of fitting the Chain Block and erection of Distribution Transformer with long duration 3 to 4 hours. NOVELTY IN THE DESIGN

In the existing method the entire supply or major part of the supply including working place is interrupted with long duration 3 to 4 hours.

In the new method the entire supply or part of supply is not interrupted except the working place and the duration of supply interruption is only 30 minutes. In the existing method a chain block is temporarily fitted at the top channel of the

Distribution structure. Hence the HT supply is interrupted. The movement in X, Y and Z direction of the Distribution Transformer is very hardship.

In new method the lifting of the Distribution Transformer is away from the Distribution structure The movement in X, Y and Z direction of the Distribution Transformer is very easy. APPROXIMATE PROFIT IN ONLINE TRANSFORMER ERECTION

The following Parameters are taken for calculation of Approximate Profit in

ONLINE TRANSFORMER ERECTION.

1. The capacity of Transformer to be erected = 100

2. The total load of Feeder in which the Transformer to be erected = 4000

The time taken to replace the Transformer in Old method 4 Hrs The time taken to replace the Transformer in New method Vi Hr When the Old method is used to replace the Transformer, 4000 X 4 units of commercial loss (LOAD X TIME) 16000 UNITS When the New method is used to replace the Transforme 100 X ½

units of commercial loss (LOAD X TIME) 50 UNITS Net commercial loss avoided in terms of UNITS 16000-50

15950 UNITS

The revenue loss avoided if the profit per unit is Rs 2.00 15950 x 2

Rs 31900
