Abstract:
Provided is an open resonator which can measure the dielectric properties of a sample with higher accuracy by removing unwanted resonance of high-order modes. This open resonator comprises: a first spherical-surface reflector having a first reflective spherical surface; and a second spherical-surface reflector having a second reflective spherical surface disposed facing the first reflective spherical surface. At least one among the diameters of an opening surface of the first reflective spherical surface and the second reflective spherical surface, the opening surface being exposed to a space between the first reflective spherical surface and the second reflective spherical surface, is half or less of the inter-spherical surface distance between the first reflective spherical surface and the second reflective spherical surface.
