Abstract:
The present invention relates to an openable and closeable blade for a vertical-axis wind turbine and, more specifically, to an openable and closeable blade for a vertical-axis wind turbine, wherein: an upper and a lower blade (3) (4), each having a blade closing portion curvedly formed at the front end thereof, are vertically pivotally hinged to the upper and the lower side of a base frame (2); a ball screw device (5) operated by a driving motor (8) is installed in the base frame (2); and rotating links (6) (7) for vertically pivoting the upper and the lower blade (3) (4) according to movements of a nut of the ball screw device (5) are hinged between the inner surfaces of the upper and the lower blade (3) (4) and the nut, respectively, whereby: when the upper and the lower blade are opened, the blades can be smoothly rotated even by a breeze, so that the efficiency of power generation can be significantly improved; and when the upper and the lower blade are closed, the blades can safely withstand strong winds such as in a typhoon, so that the durability thereof can be significantly improved.
