Abstract:
An opening and closing body drive device comprises an opening-closing body, a latch mechanism, an opening-closing body drive unit, a control unit that controls driving of the opening-closing body drive unit, and a movement sensor that outputs opening-closing body movement information. The control unit: has a midway reference count value, which is a preset count value when the latch mechanism is in a prescribed state, and an insertion count value in which the opening-closing body is in a fully closed state by adjusting the midway reference count value; compares the midway reference count value to a current count value acquired from the movement sensor when the opening-closing body is in a prescribed state with the latch mechanism and corrects the current count value; and stops driving the opening-closing body drive unit assuming that the opening-closing body reaches the fully closed position when the opening-closing body moves from the count value corresponding to the midway reference count value by the insertion count value. With such an opening and closing body drive device, it is possible to reduce incidences of excessive loads being applied to the opening-closing body drive unit when driving the opening-closing body.
