An operating method and terminal based on fingerprint recognition. The method comprises: acquiring fingerprint information, detecting whether or not a record matching the fingerprint information acquired is present in a multi-fingerprint information list (101); if a record, i, matching the fingerprint information acquired is present in the multi-fingerprint information list, determining whether or not an application identifier recorded in an application identifier field in the record, i, is the application identifier of a current application (102); and, if the application identifier recorded in the application identifier field in the record, i, is the application identifier of the current application, executing for the current application an operation indicated by operation information recorded in the operation information field in the record, i (103). The operating method and terminal based on fingerprint recognition allow multiple users to cooperatively control a certain application via multi-fingerprint, thus enhancing user experience.
