Abstract:
An operation control device for a tractor vehicle is provided with a yaw rate sensor, which detects the actual yaw rate, and a controller, which executes damping control for increasing braking power on the vehicle wheels on the basis of the actual yaw rate and damping periodic yaw motion of the tractor vehicle originating in a trailer. The controller is configured so as to, on the basis of the actual yaw rate, calculate a yaw indicator that represents the degree of yaw motion, and set the braking power on the front wheels to be greater and set the braking power on the rear wheels to be less as the yaw indicator becomes greater. For example, the controller calculates a peak value of the actual yaw rate and determines the peak value of the actual yaw rate to be the yaw rate. The controller also may calculate yaw angular acceleration on the basis of the actual yaw rate and determine a yaw indicator on the basis of the peak value of the yaw angular acceleration.
