Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to perform determination of a malfunction in a detecting body while limiting the influence exerted by the accuracy of relative position for a detection subject and the detecting body. Provided is a gearshift lever device 10 wherein, when a gearshift lever 20 is operated from a position H to a position N, detection signals for gearshift sensors 44L, 44R switch from off-signal to on-signal while the gearshift lever 20 is being operated, and switch once more from the on-signal to the off-signal just short of the position N. The above enables determination of a malfunction in the gearshift sensors 44L, 44R, by means of a control unit 80 sensing whether the detection signals for the gearshift sensors 44L, 44R switch. When determining a malfunction in the gearshift sensors 44L, 44R, a magnet 70 is displaced so as to traverse the gearshift sensors 44L, 44R in plan view. Therefore, a configuration can call for a large relative displacement of the magnet 70 vis-à-vis the gearshift sensors 44L, 44R.
