Abstract:

The purpose of this invention is to prevent inconveniences caused by registering a shape that a user wants registered. This shape input device acquires both registration-shape data representing a shape inputted by a user and associated information associated with said shape, computes a similarity degree between the registration-shape data and one of a plurality of pieces of shape data registered in a dictionary, uses the computed similarity degree to determine whether or not the inputted shape is similar to the shape represented by said piece of shape data, and if the inputted shape is not similar to the shape represented by said piece of shape data, registers the registration-shape data and the aforementioned associated information in the dictionary in association with each other.
