Abstract:
Provided is an image capturing device having fine pixels. A pixel includes a photoelectric conversion element, first and second transistors, and a capacitor element. One electrode of the photoelectric conversion element is electrically connected to one of a source and a drain of the first transistor, the other of the source and the drain of the first transistor is electrically connected to the gate of the second transistor, and the gate of the second transistor is electrically connected to one electrode of the capacitor element. In the first period, image capture data corresponding to the illuminance of light with which the photoelectric conversion element is irradiated are written to the pixel by supplying a first potential to the other electrode of the capacitor element and turning on the first transistor In the second period, image capture data are read from the pixel by supplying a second potential to the other electrode of the capacitor element.
