An operation panel for a machine tool is provided such that an operation command is prevented from being input by mistake to one of multiple machining parts, and the degree of freedom of work can be improved without limiting the work position of an operator. The operation panel (30) for an automatic lathe (100) is configured with a turnable operation panel (31), stationary operation panels (40), (41), and a detection sensor (42). A display unit (32) and an operation unit (33) are disposed on the turnable operation panel (31). First and second machining parts (11), (12) having main spindles (13), (14), tool rests (15), (16), and the like, a control unit (22), and a memory unit (23) are disposed on a device main body (10). When a selected machining part (11), (12) matches a machining part (11), (12) that faces the operation section (33) as detected by the detection sensor (42), the control unit (22) displays an operation screen for the selected machining part (11), (12) on the display unit (32) and switches the input destination of an operation command from the turnable operation panel (31) to the selected machining part (11, 12). When the machining parts do not match, the control unit displays a notification screen on the display unit (32).
