Abstract:
Provided are an operation receiving device and an operation receiving method with which it is possible to achieve improved safety and convenience. The operation receiving device is installed in a vehicle together with an accelerator pedal and an autonomous driving control device for carrying out out control related to autonomous driving, and receives an operation by a vehicle passenger carried out in response to a confirmation of intent presented by the autonomous driving control device during autonomous driving of the vehicle, said operation receiving device having: an input unit that accepts depression amount information indicating the depression amount of the accelerator pedal if an operation depressing the accelerator pedal is carried out after the confirmation of intent is presented; and a determination unit that determines that the approval of the passenger has been acquired in response to the confirmation of intent if the depression amount indicated by the depression amount information is no more than a set amount and the time during which the depression operation was carried out is no more than a set time.
