Abstract:
Provided are an ophthalmic device which is capable of accurately and reliably obtaining eye characteristics of a subject eye, and a method for controlling the same. This ophthalmic device comprises a face support unit that supports the face of a subject, an anterior eye segment image acquisition unit for repeatedly acquiring images of an anterior segment of a subject eye of the face supported by the face support unit, a pupil image detection unit that detects a pupil image of the subject eye for each image of the anterior segment of the eye on the basis of the images of the anterior segment of the eye repeatedly acquired by the anterior eye segment image acquisition unit, and a determination unit that determines whether the face is properly supported by the face support unit on the basis of the results of detection of the pupil image for each image of the anterior segment of the eye from the pupil image detection unit.
