Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ophthalmic material having a hydrophilized surface and a method for preparing the same. The ophthalmic material according to the present invention has a feature of comprising a hydrophilic layer containing at least one of compounds represented by chemical formulas 1 and 2 on a surface of a matrix containing a polyacryl resin, and thus has excellent hydrophilicity on the material surface and suppresses the formation of biofilms, thereby effectively preventing an eye disease. Therefore, the ophthalmic material can be favorably used for an ophthalmic device, such as intraocular lenses, artificial cornea, contact lenses, and artificial eyes.
