Abstract:
It is intended to provide an ophthalmic surgical instrument of a novel system which is applicable to minimal incision cataract surgery, in particular, an ophthalmic surgical instrument to be used in cataract surgery which is an instrument sufficiently suitable for minimal incision in a size of 1.4 mm and by which the crystalline lens nucleus can be easily, safely and quickly divided by any operating surgeon. Namely, an ophthalmic surgical instrument characterized by comprising a thin tube with one end closed and having an outer diameter of from 0.3 to 1.0 mm and an inner diameter from 0.1 to 0.7 mm and being provided with two or more holes for jetting outward a liquid filled in the thin tube on the wall around the end of the thin tube.
