Abstract:
An opposed twin-spindle lathe that has a tailstock and increases the stability of the tailstock. In the opposed twin-spindle lathe (1), a first main spindle unit (5) is fixed to an installation surface (3a) of a head (3). A tailstock unit (9) is disposed lined up with the second main spindle unit (7), in a second direction, and is fixed to the installation surface (3a) independently from the second main spindle unit (7). A first main spindle unit (5) can move between a first position and a second position on the installation surface (3a), said first position having the central axes of the first main spindle unit and the second main spindle unit (7) mutually aligned and said second position having the central axes of the first main spindle unit and the tail stock unit (9) mutually aligned.
