Title:
OPTICAL ALIGNMENT FILM FORMATION METHOD AND LAMINATE PREPARATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/181168
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are: an optical alignment film formation method for continuously forming an optical alignment film to more completely align liquid crystalline compounds; and a method for preparing a laminate in which liquid crystalline compounds are more completely aligned. An elongated photoisomerization film (68) containing a photoisomerization compound is transported in the longitudinal direction. A transport path for the photoisomerization film (68) is provided under a humidity controlled atmosphere having a humidity of 50-85%. Condensation is suppressed on the humidity controlled atmosphere-side surface of a cover glass (75) separating an LED serving as a light source (71) from a space that is the humidity controlled atmosphere. Light from the light source (71) is polarized by means of a reflection-type polarizer (77) disposed between the light source (71) and the transport path, and the photoisomerization film (68) that is passing through the humidity controlled atmosphere is continuously irradiated with the generated polarized light to form an optical alignment film (13).
