Abstract:
Disclosed in the embodiments of the present application are an optical amplification apparatus and a mode division multiplexing system comprising said optical amplification apparatus, relating to the field of optical communication, being used in a mode division multiplexing optical transmission system, and comprising: a first optical amplifier, a second optical amplifier, and a mode switch; the first optical amplifier is connected to an input end of the mode switch, and the second optical amplifier is connected to an output end of the mode switch; the first optical amplifier is used for amplifying optical signals carried by various transmission modes of a few-mode fibre; the various transmission modes of the few-mode fibre can be divided into N groups, each group comprising two transmission modes, and N being a positive integer greater than or equal to 1; the mode switch is used for performing mode switching between two transmission modes carrying optical signals in each group; and the second optical amplifier is used for amplifying the optical signals carried by the two transmission modes in each group after mode switching.
