Abstract:

An optical assembly and a liquid crystal display device formed using the optical assembly, providing an optical assembly and a liquid crystal display device capable of implementing a high colour gamut display. The optical assembly comprises: a first substrate layer (100); a second substrate layer (300); an optical fibre layer (200) arranged between the first substrate layer (100) and the second substrate layer (300), the optical fibre layer (200) comprising a single layer and a plurality of closely arranged optical fibres (2001, 2002, ... 200n). A plurality of adhesive points (400) in contact with the optical fibres (2001, 2002, ... 200n) are arranged on a surface of at least one of the first substrate layer (100) and the second substrate layer (300), the adhesive points (400) breaking the total reflection in the optical fibres (2001, 2002, ... 200n) at the points of contact between the adhesive points (400) and the optical fibres (2001, 2002, ... 200n).
