Abstract:

The present invention relates to an optical cable comprising: a plurality of optical units, each optical unit being provided with a plurality of optical fibers for communications, and waterproof yarns and comprising a tube member for accommodating the optical fibers and waterproof yarns; tension-reinforcing fibers disposed around the plurality of optical units; an outer jacket provided so as to surround the outside of the tension-reinforcing fibers; and at least one rigidity-reinforcing member embedded in a position closer to the outer surface, than to the inner surface, of the outer jacket in the lengthwise direction of the cable.
