Abstract:
An optical calculation system is realized with which it is possible to obtain a signal light representing information before calculation, in addition to a signal light representing information after calculation. The optical calculation system (10) comprises an optical diffraction element group (11) that includes n optical diffraction elements (1a, 1b, 1c). Each optical diffraction element (1a, 1b, 1c) is constituted from a plurality of cells in which the thickness or refractive index thereof are set differently from each other, the plurality of cells being classified into two types of cells C1, C2. Among the optical diffraction elements (1a, 1b, 1c), the thickness or refractive index of each cell C1 is set so that optical calculations executed by an optical diffraction element group (11) are identity calculations when the cells C2 of the optical diffraction elements (1a, 1b, 1c) belonging to the optical diffraction element group (11) are masked.
