Abstract:
This optical communication device comprises: an optical switch that outputs an optical signal input from one transmission path among a plurality of transmission paths to another transmission path among the plurality of transmission paths; a wavelength management control unit which uses a control signal to allocate, to a subscriber device, in accordance with the subscriber device and a transfer destination on the path to a communication destination, a wavelength, a time, a polarization, a mode, a symbol, a frequency, a core, a core line, or a wavelength or the like that is a combination of the foregoing, and which transmits the control signal to the subscriber device by using a carrier that is different from a carrier to which the wavelength or the like was allocated; and an optical switch control unit that controls the optical switch such that the input optical signal is output to the other transmission path corresponding to the communication destination.
