Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is, for an optical communication device that operates by battery and transmits location information via optical communications, to provide a structure that allows the irradiation range of an infrared beacon to be easily changed by a simple on-site operation, while making the optical communication device compact and slim, and provide technology that stretches the range of the infrared beacon. Specifically, the optical communication device is characterized by the following: having an optical adjustment unit that adjusts the irradiation range of optical rays irradiated from a light-emitting unit; the optical adjustment unit and a battery being mounted on the same face of a circuit board; the optical adjustment unit being mounted in a space created by a chassis, the circuit board, the light-emitting unit and the battery; and selecting the light emission time for optical communications and whether to have modulation, and controlling the range of the optical communications.
