Abstract:
Provided in the present application are an optical communication method and an apparatus, which comprises a LWDM optical module and a multiplexer/demultiplexer, where a first signal is sent and a second signal is received by means of utilizing a periodic filter in the optical module, wherein a center wavelength of the first signal is a first wavelength, a center wavelength of the second signal is a second wavelength, a spacing between the first wavelength and the second wavelength is less than a preset threshold, a wavelength range of the first signal and a wavelength range of the second signal do not overlap, and the wavelength range of the first signal and the wavelength range of the second signal belong to wavelength ranges corresponding to the multiplexer/demultiplexer. An optical communication method and an apparatus in embodiments of the present application can enable an LWDM colored optical module to support single fiber bidirectional operation, a requirement to reduce optical fibers is met, and the capacity of a system is increased.
