Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide a communication network element and an optical communication system, having high data demodulation and recovery accuracy and a fast rate. The optical communication system comprises a first communication network element and a second communication network element that exchange a data signal with each other by means of an optical signal. A first transmitting unit of the first communication network element outputs, by means of an optical fiber, two paths of optical signals that are in an orthogonal polarization state, wherein one path of the optical signal is loaded with a data signal to be transmitted and a pilot signal. A second receiving unit of the second communication network element is coupled to the optical fiber and receives a receiving optical signal; the receiving optical signal is an optical signal outputted by the optical fiber after a transmitting optical signal is transmitted by means of the optical fiber; a plurality of correction signals are obtained according to the receiving optical signal, and the receiving optical signal is demodulated and recovered to be a polarization state electrical signal of a corresponding data signal; a polarization rotation parameter when the transmitting optical signal is transmitted is calculated according to the plurality of correction signals; and according to the polarization rotation parameter, the receiving optical signal is corrected and recovered to be an electrical signal of the corresponding data signal. The embodiments of the present application further provide an optical communication correction method.
