Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multi-channel optical interconnect that sends and receives high-capacity signals between substrates as optical signals, the substrates having electronic circuits such as integrated circuits incorporated therein. The present invention provides: an optical connector that connects, with high efficiency, signals between multiple optical transmission mediums such as optical fibers and optical waveguides; and an optical connector connection method, an optical connector device, and an optical connector device maintenance method that achieve an easy process for the connection and the disconnection of the optical connector. The optical connector device, which comprises a plurality of connectors and a plurality of optical transmission mediums that guide the optical signal waves, includes: an alignment mechanism, which includes alignment functions that enable a high-precision connection, provided to at least two of the connectors; and a magnetic shielding means, for weakening the attractive force of a magnet, also provided to said connectors. This enables a high-precision connection between the connectors, even when there are multiple optical fibers and optical waveguides acting as optical transmission mediums, and the magnetic shielding function enables the connection between the connectors to be easily disconnected.
