Abstract:
A second optical connector (5) has: a pipe (55) that holds a guide pin (44) for aligning a second optical fiber core wire (41) with an optical fiber core wire (21) which the second optical fiber core wire is to be coupled to; and a ferrule (40) that holds the pipe (55). A leading end portion (41a) of the second optical fiber core wire (41) is exposed from a ferrule front end surface (40a), and a guide pin (44) protrudes from the front end surface (40a). At the time of inserting the guide pin (44) into a guide hole (25) which the guide pin is to be inserted into, said guide hole being in a ferrule to be coupled to, an excessive force is not applied to the ferrule (40) for the purpose of coupling the second optical fiber core wire (41) of the second optical connector (5) to the optical fiber core wire (21). Consequently, breakage of the ferrule (40) can be eliminated.
