Abstract:
Disclosed is an optical coupling device—which has a plurality of optical coupling units—wherein light guide paths such as optical waveguides and fiber optics can be drawn out in two differing directions. The optical coupling units (25A), wherein a light transmission unit and a light reception unit are facing, are arranged in rows (L1) in a first direction and rows (L2) in a second direction. The first rows (L1) and second rows (L2) are perpendicular to each other, and form an angle (θ) with respect to the X-direction and Y-direction. As a result, a plurality of light guide paths (21A, 21B) that couple with each optical coupling unit (25A) do not overlap each other and can extend in a direction selected from either the X-direction or the Y-direction. The lead-out direction of the light guide paths (21A, 21B) becomes freely settable, and the effective use of space becomes possible.
