Abstract:
Provided is an optical detection device that counts the number of pulses with a counter, wherein picture quality is improved. A first sensor unit generates first pulse signals in accordance with the incidence of photons. A second sensor unit generates second pulse signals in accordance with the incidence of photons. A first counter synchronizes with any of a plurality of signals including the first and second pulse signals to count a count value, and outputs a first digital signal indicating the count value and a first carry flag indicating whether an overflow has occurred. A second counter synchronizes with either the first carry flag or the second pulse signal to count a count value, and outputs a second digital signal indicating the count value.
