Abstract:
Provided is an optical device to be connected to an optical fiber and capable of
suppressing irregularities of distance between inclined surfaces supporting
an optical fiber and improving the productivity. Provided is also an optical
system including the optical device to which an optical fiber is fixed. The optical
system is, for example, an optical multiplexer. The optical multiplexer has
an optical device to be connected to an optical fiber. The optical device includes
a substrate (2) having a crystal axis and a groove portion (10a) formed on the substrate
so as to support an optical fiber (6a). The groove portion (10a) has a pair of opposing
inclined planes (24) and an indentation (26) formed between the pair of opposing
inclined planes (24) so as to support the optical fiber (6a).
