Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an optical device that, with a simple structure, makes it possible, when movement in the direction of the optical axis of a lens unit occurs, to minimize the impact on optical performance. [Solution] This optical device (1) has a tubular fixed tube (3) in which a straight groove (2) that extends in a direction parallel to an optical axis is formed, and the centerline of said fixed tube (3) coincides with said optical axis. A tubular cam ring (5) in which a cam groove (4) is formed rotates about the centerline of said cam ring (5) relative to the fixed tube (3), and said centerline coincides with the aforementioned optical axis. The cam ring (5) is positioned so as to cover the outer surface of the fixed tube (3) from the outside thereof. When the cam ring (5) rotates, a lens unit (7) that is affixed to and moves in conjunction with a cam follower (6) that fits into the cam groove (4) and the abovementioned groove (2) moves in the direction of the optical axis. An auxiliary cam follower (8) that is affixed to and moves in conjunction with the aforementioned cam follower (6), is inserted into the straight groove (2), and is not inserted into the cam groove (4) is affixed to and moves in conjunction with the lens unit (7).
