Abstract:
An optical device (1) has a first optical element (10) and a second optical element (20), and each of the first optical element (10) and the second optical element (20) is provided with: a pair of translucent base materials (11a and 11b, 21a and 21b); a pair of translucent electrodes (12a and 12b, 22a and 22b), which are provided between the pair of base materials (11a and 11b, 21a and 21b); a refractive index adjustment layer (13, 23) which is provided between the pair of electrodes (12a and 12b, 22a and 22b); and a recessed and projecting layer (14, 24), which is formed on one of the pair of electrodes (12a and 12b, 22a and 22b), and which has a plurality of protruding sections (14a, 24a). The first optical element (10) and the second optical element (20) are laminated to each other such that the bottom surfaces of the protruding sections (14a, 24a) of each recessed and protruding layer (14, 24) face each other.
