Abstract:
In an optical disc device (1), data recording and reading on and from one plane of an optical disc are made possible by controlling irradiation of a laser beam, and recording of visible information on the other plane of the optical disc is made possible by controlling the irradiation of the laser beam. The optical disc device is provided with a detector (7) which detects information which corresponds to a rotating speed, from the other plane of the rotating optical disc (2); a clock generating circuit (17) which generates a reference clock signal for determining a data bit rate of recording operation by laser beam irradiation; and data processing circuits (13, 14). The data processing circuits permit the clock generating circuit to change the frequency of the reference clock signal corresponding to an error between a speed obtained by the detection information from the detector and the target speed, at the time of forming the visible information. Even when cogging is generated due to low-speed rotation of a disc motor when a visible image is being formed, correlation between the disc rotation and the reference clock frequency can be kept, and the quality of the forming image can be maintained.
