Abstract:
An optical disc drive in which vibration characteristics are enhanced by preventing vibration of a rotary arm. Recording/reproduction is carried out by selecting a desired optical disc (12) from a plurality of optical discs (12) contained in a stacked form, positioning a turntable (31) by rotating a rotary arm (30) into a work space provided for the desired optical disc (12), and moving an optical head (34). Since the forward end part of the rotary arm (30) of cantilever structure is supported by a supporting member (40) extending along the center line CL of the optical disc (12), the cantilever structure is built and vibration of the rotaryarm (30) can be prevented. Since the supporting member (40) extends along the center line CL of the optical disc (12), the supporting member (40) extends through the central holding hole (12a) of the optical disc (12) and a cut (22) provided in the center of a tray (20) with no interference and supports the rotary arm (30).
