Abstract:
The disclosed optical disc recording method uses a so-called "n/2 recording strategy," wherein when it is assumed that n is an integer greater than or equal to 2 and q is the quotient when n is divided by 2, pulse sequences corresponding to marks of length nT are constituted by q units of write power level pulses. In the disclosed optical disc recording method, the starting time and/or the ending time and/or the duration of each pulse in pulse sequences corresponding to marks wherein n is greater than or equal to 4 is/are controlled separately for at least the case in which n is 4, the case in which n is an even number greater than or equal to 6, and the case in which n is an odd number greater than or equal to 5.
