Abstract:
An optical disc polishing apparatus (10) is provided with: an optical disc turntable (15), which is rotary-driven by being horizontally disposed and has an optical disc (14) placed on an upper section thereof; and polishing material turntables (31, 32) and buff turntables (37, 38), which are arranged at different positions by being decentered with respect to the optical disc turntable. In the optical disc polishing apparatus, scratches on a surface layer covering a data recording section of the optical disc (14) placed on the optical disc turntable (15) are removed by using polishing material (44, 45) attached to the polishing material turn tables (31, 32), and the surface layer, which covers the data recording section and has the scratches removed therefrom, is surface-finished by using buffs (46, 47) attached to the buff turntables (37, 38). The outer diameters of the buff turntables (37, 38) are set larger than those of the polishing material turntables (31, 32).
