Abstract:
Provided is an optical element which decreases the reflectance in an entire region of visible light. On the front surface of the optical element a plurality of one of either concave or convex portions are arranged with gaps smaller than the wavelength of visible light therebetween, such that the one of either the concave portions or the convex portions which were not arranged, are arranged within the one of either the concave or the convex portions which are arranged. That is, convex portions may be formed within concave portions and concave portions may be formed in convex portions. It is preferable that, from between the top to the bottom surface of the optical element, the proportion of cross-sectional area of the optical element itself, which occupies a cross-section taken along the horizontal plane, is continuously increased from the top towards the bottom surface of the optical element in proportion with the depth.
