Abstract:
Provided are an optical element package and an optical element module with which the occurrence of a damage to an optical fiber optically coupled to an optical element can be suppressed or prevented while ensuring satisfactory airtightness. The optical element package includes a package body section for housing an optical element, a pipe section with which the package body section is provided and through which an optical fiber optically coupled to the optical element is passed, and a fixing section which is disposed in the package body section and to which one end of the optical fiber is fixed. The pipe section includes a first pipe section with a proximal end fixed to the package body section, and a second pipe section which is bonded to a distal end of the first pipe section, which has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than the first pipe section, and which is sealed with sealing material.
